ASCII fluid, without JavaScript

This page loads no script at all. The subject is an ordinary <img>, framed by the same variable as the ASCII rendering — --af-mask-size — so it takes exactly the room the canvas would give it. It can be saved, zoomed into and read by a screen reader. Back to the full page.

The component as it is

Sunburst Ultimata

The settings panel does not appear: it is built by the script, and without it its sliders would command nothing.

When the subject is text

ASCII—II

The text is shown in its real face, at its real size: that is the one the engine reads back to draw the mask. The fallback and the rendering therefore cannot drift apart.

What the fallback does not imitate

What is left is the subject itself, in the right place and at the right size — that is, the information. The rest is texture.
